[By Mr. Sparrow, from the Comti^ittee on Military Affairs. | A BILL For the payment of Commissioner, appointed under the act entitled -An Act to suspend the privilege of the writ of habeas corpus in certain cases," and to cot^fer certain powers upon said Commis- sioners. 1 Section 1. The Cwigress of the Confeikraic States of Amrlca 2 do enact, That the Commissioners appointed under the said act 5 shall be entitled to receive the compensation of the judges of I tive military courts while engaged in the performance of their # :, Jluties, and that their assistants shall be allowed the pay of udge' advocate of the said courts: Provided, That not more ^Mhan one Commissioner shall be appointed in any one State, and 7 that not more than one assistant shaU be employed for that pur- 9 pose. I Sec. 2. In section one, strike out the words "the judges of the mili- 2 tary courts while engaged in the performance of their duties," 3 and insert *'two hundred and fifty dollars each per month, from 4 the date of their respective appointments until the expiration 5 of their service." • • 1 2.
