RESOLUTIONS. 
 
 iSesolations to saspeitd the coUectiuo of tax ia kind in certain cases. 
 
 Wliereas, there are many localities in the State of Georgia where the citi- 
 r.ens have been stripped oi nearly every species of personal property by the 
 enemy or the aa^ents, or pretended agents of the Confederate Government 
 and left without the means of paying their Confederate tax and especially the 
 "tax in kind,'" for the tenth haj not been left them. Be it therefore 
 
 Resolved, That the Governor of this State be requested to uie his utmost 
 exertions with the President and Secretary of War lo have the collection of 
 the "tax in kind" suspended in all cases where the citizens' crop out of which 
 his tax was to be paid has been taken by the enemy, or our army or officers, 
 and that the collection of all Confederate Tax bo suspended incases where 
 the property of the citizen has been takiMi by Confederate soldiers or officers 
 without couiponsation, until sucii compensation is paid. 
 
 Be it therefore resolved, That in c;is3 the President or Secretary of war 
 fail to grant the relief above mentioned the Governor be requested to 
 call the attention of our Seiuilors and Kepresentatives in Congres s to this 
 matter, and to use all lawful means to prorect tii3 citizens against wrong and 
 injustice.
