[Ry Mr. Milks.] L^ BILL To be entitled An Act; to fallow commissioned oflficers of the army rations and the privilecelof purchasing clothing from the Quarter- master's Departmeui. 1 Section 1 . T/ip Coyigress of the Confedrnde. Sinles of America do 2 enact. That from and after the passage of this act, all commis- sioned officers of the armies of the Confederate States shall be 4 entitled to rations in kind, in quantity and quality the same as 5 are now allowed by law to privates, and shall draw and receive 6 the same under such regulations as may be prescribed by the 7 Secretary of War. 1 Sec. 2. Be it further enacted. That all commissioned clliccrs 2 of the armies of the Confederate States shall be allowed to pur- 3 chase clothing and cloth for clothing from any quartermaster at 4 the price which it cost the Government, all expenses included : 5 Provided, That no quartermaster shall be allowed to sell to any 6 officer any clothing or c-)tli for clothing which it would be proper 7 .to issue to privates until .U privates entitled to receive the same 8 shall have been first 1 Sf:c. 3.
