We take pleasure in presenting- herewith our Surplus List of Stock for the Fall of 1896, for the consideration of our brother nurserymen and large purchasers, for whom it is intended. We fully appreciate the patronage accorded us in the past, and have perfect confidence in our ability to retain the good-will and patronage of all our former customers. We would respectfully solicit a trial order from those with whom we have never dealt, feeling sure that with our superior methods of grading and packing, we shall be able to please. The high standard to which we grade shall be maintained, and we will continue to exercise due diligence in the forwarding of orders, recognizing the great importance of prompt shipments. We feel assured that the superior quality of our stock and the low rate at which it is offered, together with our careful method of handling and packing, cannot fail to render the purchaser entire satisfaction. TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE. We do not reserve the selection of varieties to ourselves, but always give the purchaser his choice, so far as is consistent with our stock, otherwise you are notified. All claim for errors and deductions must be made within six days after re- ceipt of stock. Our Guarantee of Genuineness. — While we exercise the greatest diligence and care to have all our trees, etc., true to label, and hold ourselves in readi- ness, on proper proof, to replace all trees, etc., that may prove untrue to label, free of charge, or refund the amount paid— it is mutually understood and agreed to between the purchaser and ourselves, that our guarantee of genuine- ness shall in no case make us liable for any sum greater than originally re- ceived for such trees, etc., that prove untrue.
