ILLIAM PENHALLOW HENDERSON was
born in Medford, Massachusetts, and studied
at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, where he won
the Paige Travelling Scholarship. He came to Chi-
cago in 1904. His series of mural decorations for the
Joliet Township High School were shown at the Art
Institute in 1907, and he has exhibited portraits and
landscapes from time to time, a collection of his pas-
tels having been shown recently in this city.

The present exhibition includes landscapes made
along the North Shore, and in Italy, Spain, and
France, as well as portraits, decorations, and pastels.
Among the landscapes, one group is devoted to that
delightfully unique corner of southwestern France
and northern Spain, the Pays Basque.
