Need/want something interesting to get started? Interesting item type queries include:

• all 281,000 or so scholarly articles
• all 100,000 or so etexts (books)

The underlying content is strong on "big" ideas, "great" authors, and current topics. Examples include: love, honor, truth, beauty, justice, art, science, philosophy, religion, Plato, Saint Augustine, Shakespeare, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Jane Austen, Mary Wollstonecraft, social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion, working from home and remote work, gender, COVID, CRISPR (clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats), vaccine, RNA (ribonucleic acid)

Collection queries include:

• all 600 or so items from the Alex Catalogue of Electronic Texts
• all 2,400 or so Legacy Study Carrels
• about 2,800 Catholic pamphlets
• a subset of about 34,000 items from Project Gutenberg
• about 43,000 scholarly, COVID-19 related articles from a data set called CORD
• about 59,000 items from an early English collection called EarlyPrint
• a subset of about 280,000 articles from the DOAJ

Finally, the Reader's catalog nor its index are intended to be comprehensive in any regard. Instead, the catalog and index are intended to: 1) make it easy for students, researchers, or scholars to create study carrels, and 2) demonstrate how library collections and services can be combined in synergy to increase the use and understanding of content at scale.
